Fury Goes FBITP (Free But Impossible To Play)
Auran, makers of fine games like…well, their fine games, has announced that their PvP-centric (and disappointing) MMORPG Fury is now free-to-play. And how, you may ask, did the public relations genuises over at Auran choose to announce this move? Steve Danuser dropped a dime on the email they sent out, over at Moorguard.com:

In the 3 months since release, tens of thousands of people have played FURY and every single one of them has lost at least one game! That’s right — not one unbeaten player exists in our database. And the stats show that once you havewon 3 games, you are extremely likely to play dozens, if not hundreds more games.
So, we’d love you to come back and check out all the changes and improvements and discover that winning feeling.
For a start it is easier to stay alive now, and there are new game types specifically designed for new players. We have also added AI Bots (and they love losing), new gametypes, new maps, fixed the GUI lag and hundreds of bugs plus loads of other stuff. Now, of course this filled my heart with a burning curiosity, which can only be quenched by trying the game out or a liberal supply of “Tums”.
I’m out of “Tums”, so let’s try the stupid thing. How does this work…

Download FURY for free. Due to the size of the client we recommend using a download manager to avoid the file being corrupt.
Okay…no problem. 2.9 gigs (and a couple of hours) later, I’m ready to move on to step two:
2. Get a Key [Unavailable - Adding more keys]
Okay, apparently we have to wait for a new supply of codes. I hope they’ve got a tracking number on that shipment, since they’ve been “adding more keys” for several days now.
You have to admit, no matter what the criticisms are of Auran…they’re consistent.
(Edit: Apparently, they did have the tracking number, and after finding the lost shipment of codes, they have a new supply in here.)
