The Perpetual Lawsuit Wasn’t
Shacknews.com is reporting that the lawsuit filed against Perpetual Entertainment by Kohnke Communication has been dismissed after a settlement was reached by the two parties out of court.
A representative of Kohnke confirmed the suit’s dismissal this afternoon. “The parties have reached an agreement, but we can’t detail any further than that,” Kohnke told Shacknews. “Part of the agreement was that we would not detail.”
Filed in December, Kohnke’s lawsuit alleges that the firm is owed nearly $300,000 for its work promoting Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising (PC), which was cancelled last November.
While they couldn’t discuss the details of the agreement, LagORama has learned from informed sources that don’t have a frickin’ clue what’s going on with anything related to the MMORPG world that the settlement probably involved beta access to Star Trek Online for the Kohnke employees, so don’t tell’em that Paramount pulled the license from Perpetual or we’ll be right back where we started.
Of course, that’s not the only MMORPG-related lawsuit out there…
“Hmmmm…I wonder if I have to have French permission to walk over to those mountains?”
The lawsuit against NPCube and Farlan Entertainment alleging illegal use of VWorld Terrain technology in their dead-in-the-water MMO Dark & Light was filed in May of 2007, and the French courts are expected to issue a ruling sometime in March, probably involving croissants.
Up next…”Babysitters Local 2433 vs. Webkinz“. I can feel it coming.
My only question in this…how can you reach the point as a company that you expect to get away with these things?
