Crazy Like A Fox
I’ve had a lot of different reasons for trying various MMORPGs, ranging from a love of the universe it’s set it to “That looks cool!” to “Well, everyone else is doing it,” but this is officially a first.
My first MMO was Cryptic’s City of Heroes, a game that caught my attention because I’m a life-long comic fan. I fell in love during the beta and never looked back. Therefore, I’ve been watching Cryptic’s Champions Online with interest; Cryptic obviously knows how to do superhero MMOs, and the property they’re working with is overflowing with potential. However, I’ve now moved from the “looks like it could be good” column all the way over to “Okay, I’m in on this no later than launch day if I can’t figure out how to get a beta invite first”, and for a reason that’s never drawn me to an MMO before…one single character.
Foxbat resides on the twelfth level of Freakin’ Awesome Land as far as I’m concerned, and it looks like Cryptic has Foxbat nailed.
Have you ever been drawn to an MMO due to an in-game character? It’s a first for me. Of course, I guess it’s only to be expected:
Raised on a steady diet of comic books, you grew up to be an unstable lunatic, whose wacky ambitions are only matched by your delusions of grandeur. You’re too crafty to get caught, otherwise you’d certainly be locked away in the loony bin!
